Walk With The [UN]familiar

Walk With The [UN]familiar
A Joan Jonas Response

    1. A person is chosen to be blindfolded and used in the performance.
    2. Another person will be chosen. The person will not be familiar to that person at all and be used as a guide for the blindfolded.
    3. The guide and the blindfolded person will be walking through a familiar place.
    4. The blindfolded person will be taken throughout the place using there other senses to familiarize the area to them.

The piece is meant to show how the constant dependence on sight is not needed by showing that you can familiarize anything or anyone when you chose to open up.

Wavy Relations

Wavy Relations
A Margulies Collection Response

In my response, I wanted to use lights to convey emotion. I wanted to represent two extremes of emotion in general. I tried to personify the lights by giving them each a role. Making it like a relationship and as i played with the constant movement of the lights, I noticed that they interacted more like a a couple. In the video you will notice how the two will twist and turn together becoming more than just someone or something ultimately coming into a unit.
